Misty L. Bauder, OD
Dr. Misty L. Bauder graduated in 2006 from Indiana University’s School of Optometry. She completed an ocular disease residency at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. She worked at a private practice in Delaware, Ohio for 9 years before opening UEC in August 2016. Dr. Bauder's husband is a local pharmacist at Uptown Pharmacy in Westerville. The Bauders moved from Uptown Westerville to Sunbury in Fall 2024 and loving their new country life and adventures there.
Dr. Bauder's roots are from a small rural town in SouthEast Kentucky, and you will instantly notice her southern accent and hospitality. The Bauders attend Rock City Church and try to stay involved in many church and community outreach activities. She serves as a leader in the RCKids program, and has lead small groups. She serves with Rock City Church and the Dream Centers throughout the year to make our community a better place. She has also served in the past as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for a Daisy and Brownie troop in Westerville.
When she is home, she enjoys laying low and spending time with her family. She has two daughters, Abby and Isabella. As both of her girls are passionate about the performing arts, Dr. Bauder has become involved in the theatre community. Whether she is designing the playbills, serving in the front of house, or coordinating volunteers, she has become a theatre mom, through and through.
The Bauders have three rescue dogs that make their world much louder, joyous and fur-filled: a senior yorkie named Jack, a cuddly and fluffy American Eskimo, Bolt and a playful Mini Schnoodle named Winnie. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, all things Disney, and making crafts in her spare time.

Abbey Bartell
Abbey is our Frame Stylist and Office Manager. She has been at Uptown Eye Care since day 1, as she helped open the practice with Dr. Bauder in 2016. She has a passion for eyewear and that is evident in her work. Abbey really takes the time to get to know you and your family, which is our philosophy at Uptown Eye Care. It is evident that Abbey is a perfect fit for this office. She has been able to add some unique frame lines to our current selection, and keeps our optical fresh with the latest trends in eyewear.When not at the office she enjoys spending time with her daughters Amrie and Raelee and husband Dave. They are a very active family. They enjoy spending time outdoors on different trails, by bike or foot.Abbey grew up in a small town in Northwest Ohio. In 2005, she decided to move to the Columbus area to explore the "big city," and she hasn't been able to leave since! Abbey and her husband have lived all around the Columbus area before buying their dream home in Pickerington.In addition to helping you find the perfect pair of eyewear and adjusting them to make them a perfect fit, she will be helping you throughout the office. She will be your first point of contact answering phones and greeting patients when they enter, she helps train new contact lens patients, assists the doctor with pretesting patients, and manages billing and orders, and everything in between!
