  • Infant Eye Exams

We love babies at Uptown Eye Care.  Being a mom to two little girls, Dr. Bauder enjoys seeing kids and babies for exams.  Her daughters have both been wearing glasses since age 3, and both girls had their first eye exam at 8-10 months old.  It is so important to rule out any major problems at this early age.  The earlier that big problems can be detected, the better.  Even if you don't notice any problems, the American Optometric Association recommends scheduling an appointment between 6 and 12 months of age.

We will evaluate the basic visual system and eye health.  The tests will include:

    • Large or unequal amounts of vision correction as this can be a risk factor for developing amblyopia (lazy eye)
    • Eye Movement testing
    • Eye Health Disorders (such as nasolacrimal duct obstruction, congenital cataracts, congenital retinal defects, and much more!)

InfantSEE® is a public health program that is designed to ensure there are no barriers for eye care to become an essential part of infant wellness care.  There is NO COST for this exam.  Even if your baby is on your vision insurance, we do not bill anything for this assessment. We just want to make sure your baby gets the best start in life!
