Misty L. Bauder, OD
Dr. Misty L. Bauder graduated in 2006 from Indiana University’s School of Optometry. She completed an ocular disease residency at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. She worked at a private practice in Delaware, Ohio since July 2007 before opening UEC in 2016. She is a resident of East Lincoln Street and was so excited to have the opportunity to purchase a practice so close to her home. It has always been her dream to be a local eye doctor for her neighborhood. Dr. Bauder's husband is a local pharmacist at Uptown Pharmacy on State Street. The Bauders live, work, shop and LOVE the Uptown Westerville area, so this is truly a dream come true!
Dr. Bauder's roots are from a small rural town in SouthEast Kentucky, and you will instantly notice her southern accent and hospitality. The Bauders attend Rock City Church and try to stay involved in many church and community outreach activities. She has been the manager of the church's bookstore, along with being involved with MOPS and MOMSNext programs, and lead small group courses. She also served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for a Daisy and Brownie troop in her community. When she is home, she enjoys laying low and spending time with her family. She has two daughters, Abigail "Abby" and Isabella "Izzy". With the office being just steps away from home, you may see them around the office from time to time visiting mom! The Bauders have two dogs, a yorkie named Jack and an American Eskimo, Bolt. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, all things Disney, and making other crafts in her spare time.

Abbey Bartell
Abbey is our Frame Stylist and highly optometric assistant. She previously worked in a private practice in Dublin, Ohio for 6 years. She has a passion for eyewear and that is evident in her work. Abbey really takes the time to get to know you and your family, which is our philosophy at Uptown Eye Care. It is evident that Abbey is a perfect fit for this office. She has been able to add some unique frame lines to our current selection, and keeps our optical fresh with the latest trends in eyewear.
When not at the office she enjoys spending time with her daughters Amrie and Raelee and husband Dave. They are a very active family. They enjoy spending time outdoors and being involved in their church.Abbey grew up in a small town in Northwest Ohio. In 2005, she decided to move to the Columbus area to explore the "big city," and she hasn't been able to leave since! Abbey and her husband have lived all around the Columbus area before buying their dream home in Pickerington.In addition to helping you find the perfect pair of eyewear and adjusting them to make them a perfect fit, she will be helping you throughout the office. She will help train new contact lens patients, and assist the doctor with pretesting patients.
